What is PATH?

The federal Projects in Assistance for Transition from Homelessness (PATH) Formula Grant Program funds community-based programs to serve homeless people with mental illnesses and co-occurring substance abuse problems in every American state and territory. PATH provides formula grant awards to States for treatment, support services in residential settings, and the coordination of services and housing.

PATH funds may be used for: In FY 2004, 56 states and territories received $47 million in PATH formula grant funds. They also receive technical assistance in the administration and design of service programs funded under PATH.For more information about the federal program, contact the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Center for Mental Health Services at (240) 276-1894.
