Workforce Survey - Facility

Click HERE to take the Facility Workforce Survey

Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to take part in the Virginia Service Integration Program’s (VASIP) Workforce Development Survey, a combined effort of the Office of Substance Abuse Services, the Office of Mental Health Services, and the Office of Facility Operations and Quality Improvement at DMHMRSAS.  This survey is designed to assess the ability of our workforce to address the needs of individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, and to determine what training and educational needs exist to better prepare the workforce to address the needs of this growing population.

We understand that you may have taken part in similar surveys or activities in the past, but we want you to know why this survey is different. In response to demand from the workforce to have a voice concerning their own training needs, we have created this survey so that you can give the VASIP team, and DMHMRSAS as a whole, direct feedback about what you feel are the important training needs that exist for yourself and your colleagues. This feedback will guide future decisions about the training opportunities that are provided to behavioral health care workers throughout the Commonwealth.

Please read through the FAQs below before taking the survey, as they should answer most of the questions you may have. If, for some reason, you are unable to navigate through the entire survey, please email Jason Lowe at jason.lowe@co.dmhmrsas.virginia.gov and let us know which question you had problems with. Please note that most of the questions require answers. If you find yourself having problems progressing through the survey, please make sure you are providing answers to all the questions before contacting us for technical support.

FAQ

1. Who should take this survey? Any facility employee who works directly with consumers with mental health and/or substance use disorders should take this survey. This includes psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, psychologists, medical doctors, counselors, case managers, direct service associates and any other professional or paraprofessional staff providing services to consumers with mental health, substance abuse, mental retardation and/or co-occurring disorders.

2. I want to change an answer. How do I do that? At the bottom of every page (except the first page) there is a 'Prev' button. At any point, you can hit this button and go back to any point in the survey to change your response.

3. Why can't I move on to the next page? The most likely reason is that you have not answered all the questions on the page. Most of the questions require answers, and the survey will not allow you to progress until you have answered those questions. If you hit 'Next,' and do not progress to the next page, it is probably because you need to answer a question. Look for red text indicating that you need to answer a certain question, provide answers to the necessary questions, and then you should be able to progress.

4. Do I have to give my name or email address? No. You have the option to give this information, and if you do so it will be strictly confidential. Your identity will not be shared with anyone. But you are not required to give this information to take the survey.

5. How long will it take me to finish the survey? The survey should not take you longer than 10-15 minutes to complete.

6. Can I stop taking the survey at some point and finish it later? Unfortunately, there is no way for you to save your progress and complete the survey at a later point. However, the survey has been designed to be completed in a short time in one sitting.

7. I'm still having problems. How can I get help? Please send an email to jason.lowe@co.dmhmrsas.virginia.gov, and someone will be in touch with you as soon as possible to assist you with your problem
