Olmstead Report Feedback Invitation
THE OLMSTEAD INITIATIVE
Community Integration Oversight Advisory Committee
Dear Community Integration Stakeholder:
Following the completion of “One Community,” the final report of the Olmstead Task Force, Governor Warner issued Executive Order 61 (2004), creating a four-cabinet-member, 18-state-agency Implementation Team, and a 19-member stakeholder Oversight Advisory Committee.
From January through June 2004, the Implementation Team formulated assumptions and projected the cost, if any, of implementing 112 of the recommendations in the Report (the others will be completed starting in January 2005). The Team issued its first annual report to the Committee July 15, 2004. The Committee has requested public feedback on the Implementation Team’s work, which we have extracted from the Team’s Report for your convenience.*
Executive Order 61 requires the Committee to submit its recommendations to Governor Warner in October, and the Committee believes that public feedback will greatly assist us in preparing these recommendations. While any feedback you wish to give is important and will be considered, we are particularly interested in what you believe to be the important issues that should be brought to the administration’s attention this year.
The Committee respectfully requests your feedback on the attached report no later than August 31, 2004. You may comment:
